If you’ve never eaten Overnight oatmeal or night oats for its literal translation, it’s a very simple method of making oats but without cooking. That is, instead of cooking oats on the stove or in the microwave, the raw oats are soaked in milk or yogurt. That soaking process allows the oats to absorb all the liquid and soften it enough to eat raw. It is only necessary to leave the oats soaking and rest in the fridge for at least 2 hours. But it’s ideal if you leave overnight… Hence the name “overnight oats“.
This Overnight oatmeal recipe is an excellent healthy breakfast that can be prepared in advance and can last all week. So, it’s a very good idea to leave meals made on Sunday night and thus plan the week.
Consistency is like a papilla or a pudding. It has a denser, creamer texture than warm oats. Best of all, you get all the healthy benefits of oats at a fun breakfast:
– They contain more protein than most cereals (5 g per serving).
– They are a rich source of fiber, which helps to feel satisfied for longer (4 g per serving).
– They have a high content of antioxidants that can help reduce blood pressure levels.
– They can help you lose weight by making you feel fuller and slowing down your stomach emptying.
