Heart rate is the number of times the heart beats per minute. The speed of these beats varies depending on an emotional response, when we feel threatened, or as a result of physical activity. Normal heart rate at rest according to age

The resting heart rate is decreasing as the years pass, with these normal rest values being:
– Newborn (0 to 1 month old) from 70 to 190 beats per minute.
– Babies (1 to 11 months old) from 80 to 160 beats per minute.
-Children from 1 to 2 years old between 80 and 130 beats per minute.
-Children from 3 to 4 years old between 80 and 120 beats per minute.
– 5-6-year-olds between 75 and 115 beats per minute.
– Kids ages 7 to 9 between 70 and 110 beats per minute.
– Children aged 10 and over, as well as adults, 60 to 100 beats per minute.
– Athletes from 40 to 60 beats per minute.
How to calculate the maximum heart rate?
The maximum heart rate is the maximum amount of beats that your heart can reach in 1 minute when you are subjected to an effort. To calculate it, just use a simple formula: 226 – your age (if you are a woman) and 220 – your age (if you are a man). Thus, in the case of a 40-year-old woman, her maximum heart rate would be 186 beats per minute.
However, there is also another more precise method of calculating it. This is the Karvonen method, the calculation of which includes the resting heart rate when awakening. Following the above example, if the resting heart rate of a 40-year-old woman is 50 beats per minute, the FCM will result from subtracting her age and that amount, i.e. 136 beats.
Heart rate and physical exercise
